FUTURE PLANS

The Institute is planning to expand its activities in other areas of Vocational Education and Training, which includes:

Development and try out of various models of vocational education in collaboration with State Governments and NGOs.

Encouragement to NGOs, Voluntary Organizations and Private Sector for :-

  • taking up non-formal vocational  education programmes

  • implementing National Vocational Qualifications System

  • establishment of Production-cum-Training Centers

  • taking up vocational training programmes for the disadvantaged, special groups and disabled people

  • designing and implementing area projects

  • facilitating distance learning in vocational education

 

Conducting policy related researches/surveys Development of :-

 

  • database in TVE

  • directory of TVE institutions and coordination mechanism through Management Information System

  • CD-ROMs, video films, audio & video instructional programmes, Multi-media educational packages

  • instructional materials for special groups

  • modular vocational courses for semester pattern

  • curricula for Apprenticeship training

  • teachers guides, training manuals for non-formal vocational courses

  • guidelines for VEP project implementation

 

Coordination, monitoring and evaluation of :

  • VEP in States

  • VEP implemented by NGOs/Voluntary Organisations/Private

 

Introduction of :-

  • Vocational education programme in central and public school such as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS), Corporate Schools, etc.

  • Bachelor of Vocational Education (B.VEd.), Master of Vocational Education (M.VEd.) programmes in different vocational disciplines in Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs) and other colleges of education and professional institutions

  • Skill standards and profiles for occupations in organized sector

 

Organization of :-

  • Massive in-service teachers training programmes

  • Training of trainers

  • Diploma/Certificate course in vocational guidance and counseling and entrepreneurship development

 

Establishment of :-

  • Block Level Vocational Institutions (BLVIs)

  • School-Industry Linkages

  • Production-cum-Training Centres (PTCs)

  • Clearing house/Management Information System

Accreditation of Institutions and Vocational programmes 

Linking vocational education at +2 level with higher education/ first degree level

Promotion of  life-long education in vocational education and training
