Review and Finalization of Competency Based Curriculum on Information Technology. (PAC Code 14.37)
A workshop on Review and Finalization of Competency Based Curriculum on Information Technology was conducted at Goa Board, Goa from 4th to 8th October, 2011. The objective of the meeting was to review and finalize the Competency Based Curriculum on Information Technology. Eight experts attended the workshop. The programme coordinator explained the need and importance of NVEQF and its levels. As per guidelines provided by the coordinator, the experts reviewed the curriculum and worked out the modular curriculum in detail as per format which consists of competencies, knowledge, skilled and performance criteria. Shri. Deepak Shudhalwar, Assistant Professor (Sr. Scale), co-ordinated the meeting.

Working Group Meeting for Development of Competency Based Curricula in Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. (PAC Code 14.20)
A working group meeting was held at PSSCIVE, Bhopal from 17th to 21st October, 2011 to develop competency based curricula in Medicinal and Aromatic Plant. The objectives of the programme were (i) to enlist the modules of medicinal and aromatic plant course; (ii) to identify the competencies and elements of the modules; and (iii) to develop competency based modularcurricula. Six experts from related fields participated in the meeting. Occupational based modules were identified. Elements, relevant knowledge and performance criteria was developed which will be finalized at the next working group meeting. Dr. R.K. Pathak, Associate Professor, was the co-ordinator of the programme.

Working Group Meeting (WGM) for Development of Modular Curricula in the area of Eggless Bakery. (PAC Code 14.35)
A working group meeting for the development of modular curricula in the area of eggless bakery was organized at SNDT College of Home Science, Pune from 14th to 18th November, 2011. The objective of the programme was to develop modular curricula in the area of Eggless Bakery. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Veena A. Sant, Principal, SNDT College of Home Science, Pune. Dr. Pinki Khanna, programme co-ordinator, highlighted the importance of the modular curricula and the modality for its development. In the technical sessions, participants discussed in groups and developed a draft for modular curricula in the area of eggless bakery.

Working Group Meeting for Preparation of Structure of B.Ed Vocational Course. (PAC Code 14.15)
A working group meeting for preparation of structure of B.Ed. (Business & Commerce) vocational course was organized at PSSCIVE, Bhopal from 16th to 18th November, 2011. The objective of the programme was to develop a course for preparing vocational teachers through pre-service teacher training programme. 08 experts attended the meeting. The experts developed the structure for B.Ed. (Business & Commerce) vocational course. Prof. Sharad Kumar co-ordinated the programme.

Orientation Programme for Key Functionaries of Mizoram State on Need and Importance of Vocational Education. (PAC Code 14.17)
A four-day orientation programme for key functionaries of Mizoram State on the need and importance of Vocational Education was conducted at SCERT, Mizoram from 15th to 18th November, 2011. The objective of the programme was to acquaint the Principals/Teachers of Vocational Schools with the vocational education and training programme and to discuss its implementation strategy. The programme was inaugurated by the Director, SCERT, Mizoram. Thirty-five participants participated in this programme. The topics discussed included the need and importance of Vocational Education, curriculum development, teaching factor, small industry linkage, on-the-job training, apprenticeship training, production-cum-training centre, online examination, question bank and evaluation technique. Two resource persons from bank and DIC discussed various issues related to funding/ Govt. sanction on self employment. Dr. Saurabh Prakash, Associate Professor, was the co-ordinator of the programme.

Development of Competency Based Modular Curricula in the area of Institutional House Keeping. (PAC Code 14.33)
A A working group meeting to develop a competency based modular curricula in the area of institutional house keeping was organized from 14th to 18th November, 2011 at PSSCIVE, Bhopal. The meeting was attended by seven experts from home science colleges and hotel management institutes and industry. The curriculum was designed into four levels each leading to an occupation. Level – I.Introduction to basic housekeeping services is a core and compulsory module leading to housekeeping attendants job. Level-II, advances in housekeeping practices and personality traits of housekeeping attendant leading to the job of house person. Level - III, housekeeping for different institutions leading to the job of senior housekeeper and Level - IV, housekeeping supervisor leading to supervisory jobs in different housekeeping sections. Each level has 04 modules and is of 6 months duration. There is also a possibility of combining the core module and other elective to get a certificate in the chosen area. Dr. Suniti Sanwal, Associate Professor, was the co-ordinator of the programme.

Development of Modular Curriculum on computer Network Technician. (PAC Code 14.36)
A workshop to develop a modular curriculum on computer network technician was conducted at CIET, NCERT, New Delhi from 28th November to 2nd December, 2011. Six experts attended the workshop. The programme coordinator explained the need and importance of NVEQF and its levels. As per guidelines provided by the coordinator, the experts worked on the development of curriculum on computer network technician and evolved the job opportunities in four different levels of NVEQF. The competencies required for each job were listed out. They also worked on job analysis and prepared a detailed curriculum for Level 1. The same for the other levels will be prepared in the next workshop. Shri. Deepak Shudhalwar, Assistant Professor (Sr. Scale), co-ordinated the programme.

Working Group WGM for Revision and Finalization of Modular Competency Based Curriculum in Marketing and Sales Management. (PAC Code 14.26)
A working group meeting for revision and finalization of modular competency based curriculum in marketing and sales management was held at South East Asian College of Science, Commerce and Arts, Ektha Nagar, K.R. Puram, Bengaluru from 1st to 5th December, 2011. The objectives of the programme were to review the competencies required for the carrying out various activities in Marketing and Sales Management in the present job market, (ii) to standardize the competencies and (iii) to finalize Competency Based Modular Curriculum. Seven non-local, eleven local experts from the University Departments, Professional Institutions, Industries and one PSSCIVE faculty member participated in the meeting. The experts identified six broad areas under marketing and sales management such as retail marketing, wholesale marketing, expert marketing, rural marketing, agricultural marketing and services marketing. In the retail marketing 21 modules were developed and finalized. The experts identified 207 occupations in the remaining areas of marketing and sales management. They also developed 50 draft modules for 1-4 N VEQF levels. Dr. P. Veeraiah, Assistant Professor, was the programme coordinator.

Working Group WGM for Development of Competency Based Modular Curricula for Marine Fisheries - Phase I. (PAC Code 14.19)
A working group meeting was organized to develop competency based modular curricula for marine fisheries from 26th to 30th December, 2011 at Mumbai. The objectives of the programme were (i) to enlist competency based modules for Marine Fisheries vocational course, (ii) to enlist competencies in each module, and (iii) to develop competency based modular curricula. As per requirement of the Marine Fisheries vocational course, modules were listed and modular curricula were developed for each module as per format of the Institute. Dr. Asfa M. Yasin, Associate Professor, was the co-ordinator of the programme.

Orientation Programme of key functionaries on Competency Based Training and Assessment in VET for North Eastern State. (PAC Code 14.19)
An orientation programme of key functionaries on competency based training and assessment in VET for North Eastern State was organized from 13th to 15th December, 2011 at Umran, Meghalaya. The programme was attended by eighteen vocational teachers/ key-functionaries of north eastern states. The topics discussed included the need and importance of VET in the state, competency based training and assessment, SIL and establishment of PTC in schools. Teachers reflected on the difficulties regarding implementation of VET in the states. Dr. R.K. Pathak, Associate Professor, co-ordinated the programme.
